Hi, I’m Skyler, and I’m from the San Francisco Bay Area! Last November, I got to represent the Society of Heart’s Delight at the San Jose “Roots” event. It was super cool! I shared the art of Chinese calligraphy there. Did you know that San Jose had some tough times in the past, but now, people from different backgrounds live together peacefully? At my booth, kids and old people alike wanted to learn how to write their names or where they’re from with a calligraphy brush. I even learned the Diwali dance, which was followed by a dragon dance! That day, I realized something very important: no matter where we are from, we all belong here!
