Our video is about comic book writer and artist Sean Wang. He obtained his degree in architecture at MIT, but after graduating he pursued his passion for drawing comics. He first created artwork for various comic book authors, but discovered his love for storytelling and creating his own characters, leading him to start his own sci-fi series, Runners. Wang tells his story of stepping into an unconventional field of work, especially for Asian Americans, and being able to find success, going on to create comics for Scholastic’s LEGO and DC superhero books. Wang’s advice for fellow creatives is to not be afraid of sharing their work with others and improving as they continue producing art or whatever they are passionate about. He encourages others to pursue their true passions, even if it takes a few tries to get there.
